12 Goals for 2014

I have put together a list of a few changes I'd like to make to my house in 2014
1. Paint the Bathroom
I’ve hated the western themed bathroom since we brought the place over TWO years ago. It’s just one of those easy jobs that I keep putting off for “next weekend”.
2. Clean out the Garage
The garage is a MAJOR Stash and Dash zone for my husband and I. Seriously, my husband is thrilled at the fact his pride-and-joy motorcycle is currently being used as a box rack.
3. Evaluate the Garage Storage
I am thinking about adding more shelves in the Garage or a pegboard above my husband’s work station to create more storage that is functional.
4. Create a working craft storage center
The spare bedroom (another stash and dash zone) is primarily unusable because of my craft junk stuff is being stored in there in a nonfunctional, I-can’t-find-what-I’m-looking-for sort of way.
5. Paint the Living Room
The previous owner of the home was pretty handy with a paint brush but his eye for color left much to be desired. The living room/dining room/kitchen area was painted a darker olive green. It isn’t horrible but my husband is a fan of green. My problem with the color is how dark it is and it is paired with dark brown trim and cabinets, chocolate brown tile backslashes, and no light source is the living room. When I was on bed rest for 5 weeks I was about to go crazy and I felt claustrophobic in the dark and depressing.
6. Curtains in the master bedroom
Again, this one is so simple it gets dropped to the bottom of the to-do list.
7. Update the curtains in the Living Room
Hopefully, to match the new paint we will be using.
8. Re-Create the storage in the Laundry Room
Right now we have two cabinets that were installed above the washer and dryer. They are a bit off centered and just an inch or two too high to be functional for me.
9. Fix or replace the laundry sorter
I bought a cheap laundry sorter from Wal-Mart that is on casters with three sorting bins. I LOVED it, until it broke. The metal was cheap and thin so the whole unit leans really badly to the side but we continue to use it anyway but is just stays in the laundry room. I would like to be able to roll it around the house and use it again.
10. Paint or Replace Air Grates
They are getting old and rusty on a few of them and none of them match.
11. Create an entry way
My floor plan is very open. The front door opens into the living room with a small coat closest behind the front door. I need a designated drop zone for keys, phones, and mail. Also, add a seal to the front door.
12. Make the front porch welcoming
I’d like to add some potted plants, put the house number on the front of the house. Generally freshen up the front porch.

There are my goals for my home in 2014. I have a few personal goals such as run my first 5k, post at least 52 posts in 2014, and build an etsy shop but those I'm going to save for another day.

I hope to post some before shots of my projects next week so you know what I'm working with.

Do you have any goals for 2014?
